Overcoming internal architectural barriers to create secure mobile connections.

The Challenge:

Connection Solutions were contacted in early 2024 by a challenger bank who’s modern office across four floors of a newly renovated building in central London turned out to be a mobile signal "dead zone." The building's metal construction and insulated solar-tinted windows created a Faraday cage effect, completely blocking mobile signals. This posed a significant problem for the bank's staff, and particularly their traders, who relied heavily on mobile phones for client calls. Regulatory requirements also stipulated that all client calls be recorded, making reliable mobile connectivity essential.

The bank needed a solution that was entirely independent of their existing IT infrastructure, posing no security risks or potential disruptions to existing systems like Wi-Fi. The solution also had to be scalable, as the bank was planning ambitious growth over the next three years. To minimising disruption to daily operations, installation needed to occur outside of business hours.

The Solution:
