The implementation of a XYZ system at New Hampshire General Hospital.
The Challenge:
New Hampshire General, a large city hospital with a sprawling campus, was for many years experiencing very poor mobile signal issues. This posed a variety of problems, for staff and patients alike. Thick concrete walls, high occupancy rates, and the presence of sensitive medical equipment such as MRI scanners presented Connection Solutions with unique challenges. The hospital needed a robust connection solution that, critically, could overcome these obstacles without disrupting ongoing operations, with the 24 hour operations of the hospital.
The Solution:
After an initial scoping conversation, our team of engineers visited the site to carry out a comprehensive survey, to assess signal strength throughout the facility. We meticulously mapped out areas with weak or nonexistent coverage, talking with the facilities manager and department heads to take into consideration the specific needs of each department. With this information, we were able to go away and developed a tailored proposal that outlined an effective and comprehensive plan.
The proposed solution involved the installation of a distributed antenna system using CelFi Quatra technology. This technology utilises multiple strategically placed antennas to amplify and distribute the signal, ensuring seamless coverage throughout the hospital. Our engineers carefully selected antenna locations to maximise signal penetration and avoid interference with medical equipment.
The Installation:
Given the hospital's 24/7 operation, the Connection Solutions installation team worked closely with hospital administrators to minimise disruptions. We scheduled installations during off-peak hours and implemented strict safety protocols to protect both personnel and sensitive equipment. We conducted thorough testing to verify signal strength and quality across the entire hospital.
The Results:
The implementation of the system at XXX General Hospital resulted in a dramatic improvement in mobile signal strength and coverage throughout. Staff members reported a significant increase in call quality and data speeds, enabling them to communicate more efficiently and access critical information throughout the day. Patients and visitors also benefited from greater signal strength, allowing them to stay connected with loved ones and access online resources whilst on site.
The hospital administration were extremely satisfied with the project, expressing their thanks for the professionalism and considerate nature of our team, particularly highlighting the minimal disruption to their operations that the installation caused.
Conclusion
